In 2009 the eve women’s wellbeing project was founded, to provide support for women. By 2012 it was apparent that support for young girls aged 9 – 16 was needed and believe was born. Since 2009 we have been asked what about men! Using the experience we have learnt over the last 5 years we have come to the conclusion that our service was becoming more and more about abuse and mental health issues. A decision was made by our trustees to streamline our charity to deal with the effects of childhood abuse, domestic abuse and to deal with the issues around mental ill health. We strongly felt that we could not do this without providing a service for men and young adult males hence AMOS and TYM were created. A decision was made to change the charity’s name to Clean Slate with all our four services sitting within the aims and objectives set out in our constitution. Our Charity’s registration details remain the same and the aim is to have survivors supporting survivors with the support of volunteers.
