Service Description

Blue World Counselling & Coaching has partnered with Clean Slate to run an 8-week Men’s Support Programme for those who may be struggling with their mental health, feeling lonely, looking for a bit of support, or wanting to help others using their own lived experience. In a safe and nonjudgmental space, we’ll explore a variety of topics each week, providing in-depth knowledge and skills to help you move forward and thrive in life. Hopefully we’ll have a bit of a laugh, too! A Bit About Me My name is Nikki. I’m a dad of two kids, and I enjoy sports and keeping fit and active. I’ve faced my own challenges over the years, including addiction issues, relationship breakdowns, loneliness, and ongoing mental health struggles. Over the past ten years I’ve been working to help others in similar situations. I’m a qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, Hypnotherapist and Coach, who believes the answers to our problems can be found through talking. One of the main challenges in men’s mental health is society’s deep-rooted expectations around masculinity. Men are often habituated to be stoic and tough and to hide their vulnerabilities. Although this can be true, it’s often detrimental to healing and coping. This societal pressure can make it difficult for men to open up about their struggles, but opening up shows great strength, and by doing so, you can find ways to manage some of life’s difficulties. You might even go on to help others. Together, we’ll redefine what it means to be strong, resilient and connected. Your journey towards a healthier, happier life starts here. Embrace the change; embrace the support. Let’s build a community where every man’s well-being matters. #inittogether Topics We’ll Cover Getting To Know You – (brief introductory session getting to know each other) Relationships – (looking at relationship dynamics, what we attract, what we want and why) Mindful or Mind-full? – (using a mindfulness-based approach to manage a busy head) Understanding Stress & Anxiety – (realising stress and anxiety as signals from the body) Managing Emotions – (learning to embrace emotions like anger, frustration and hopelessness) Fitness & Well-being – (understanding the role of physical activity and self-care) Addictive Behaviours – (exploring phones, drugs, alcohol, sex and gambling) Celebrating Progress – (reflecting on what we’ve learnt and preparing for the next step)
