About
Trauma-Informed Practice (TIP) training helps staff and volunteers understand how trauma affects the brain, body, emotions, behaviour, relationships and engagement with services. It ensures that every interaction promotes psychological safety, empowerment, and emotional regulation for both the service user and the worker. TIP is recommended across health, social care and community settings and is aligned with best-practice guidance, including CSEW/ONS data noting high trauma exposure from domestic abuse and sexual violence. Participants will learn to recognise trauma responses, communicate safely with survivors, and maintain staff safety through vicarious trauma awareness and self-protection.
